Legendary bassist Jack Bruce, one third of 60’s power trio Cream (with drummer Ginger Baker and guitarist Eric Clapton), passed away today from liver disease. Jack Bruce had a long solo career, but it is the 2 year (!) lifespan of Cream that made the most impact on the musical world. As co-writer and lead singe roof most of their hits, Bruce inspired a generation of bass players, from Geddy Lee to Sting.
Jack Bruce was also briefly a member of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (with Clapton) and Manfred Man.
