The Music Addict’s Verdict80’s New Wave of British Heavy Metal has risen again! Medusa Touch plays old school dual-guitar metal that’ll get your fist pumping and your head banging.

How was the band formed?

We formed back in 1982 falling into the NWOBHM vibe that was immense at the time. 5 like-minded metal maniacs with the same need for that metal fix.

What’s your songwriting process like?

We usually start of by coming up with a basic riff, that usually is a chorus line. Then we mould a melody line over that, I sing a melody but the vocals are just jibberish at that time. Once we have that we can develop the song a bit further. Once we have a verse and a chorus pieced together with the jibbering vocal over the top (hehehe). I take that home and write proper lyrics, usually base around a current news item. That’s how songs have been done to date 🙂

What are your influences?

All the great bands from the glory days of 80s metal. There were sooooo many great bands, it was a great time.

How would you describe your music?

Fist-pumping, sing-a-long metal anthems that put you in a good mood. That sounds a bit bold but that what people say to us what they think of the songs.

What’s the one thing that makes you/your band stand out from the rest?

Currently, its that fact that its 80s metal. There isn’t a lot of people doing that kind of music at the moment other than all the great stalwarts who continue to play. Not a lot of the emerging bands have that sound, you know?

What’s your latest release?

Its called ‘Terror Eyes: The Anthology’. It’s a collection of 13 songs from back in the 80’s that we have recorded. It’s out on CD which apparently is old skool now hehehe. It’s also available on all the download and streaming sites. It was released by ONR records in Greece, a big thank you to George for that.

What are your touring plans for the next few months?

We have a few dates in Scotland before Xmas then a few of the festivals in 2020, with more gigs being arranged. We hope it going to be a busy year in 2020.
