Metal shows go virtual with Anvil at L’Anti Bar & Spectacles

Music fans everywhere are wondering when live concerts will be able to resume. The synergy between an audience and a band can lift music to a higher level, and the spontaneity of a live performance breathes new life into old familiar songs. While it’s unclear when we’ll be able to experience that synergy again, bands are adapting and finding ways to recreate part of the experience. We’ve all seen the ‘live from home’ acoustic performances, but Quebec City’s L’Anti Bar & Spectacles is kicking things up a notch with full concerts broadcast over the Internet. The organizer explains the concept as such:

“I was wondering how to make L’Anti Bar & Spectacles live again in the midst of a health crisis. I’ve been presenting virtual live shows with a ticket office since May 9. The first shows were appreciated by the spectators, we sold hundreds of tickets across Canada and in Europe during our first virtual shows. I wanted to present the first virtual metal show in Canada. I thought Anvil would be the perfect band for this show. I have an excellent relationship with them; the members of Anvil accepted without hesitation. Spectators should expect a virtual show with impeccable production quality in terms of sound, image, and lighting.”

Anvil had an extensive tour of the UK and Germany planned that fell to the wayside when COVID-19 hit. Still looking to bring their new album to fans around the world, they will be performing the first Canadian heavy metal live stream put on by District 7 Production and L’Anti Bar & Spectacles on July 4th, 2020.

This won’t be the same as experiencing the show in a loud, packed venue, but it’s the next best thing. And you can bet the band will be giving all they’ve got, as they must be itching to play.

The stream will be available worldwide via platform thepointofsale.com plus can be viewed using Chromecast on TV.

The event will begin at the following times: Saturday, July 4th at 5pm (EST), 10pm (UK), 11pm (CET) and Sunday, July 5th for 6am (JAP), 7am (AUS).
