The Music Addict’s Verdict | Dirty blues rock from the UK, played with grit, soul and passion from self-proclaimed “Rock and roll troubadours”. |
How was the band formed? The band evolved out of a cover band that was playing ZZ Top, Steely Dan , and blues/rock by a variety of artists, then I started to write songs. I built a studio to record them in and now here we are.
What’s your songwriting process like? The songs just kind of arrive in my head. Sometimes people or conversations suggest things or sometimes it’s just things I’m thinking about. Other times I’ll be jamming with the band and stuff happens that way.
What are your influences? Too many to mention really in one go, but this project is influenced by blues, rock and acoustic stuff like ZZ Top, Creedance Clear Water Revival, The Band, George Thorogood, etc
How would you describe your music? Well , see above really.
What’s the one thing that makes your band stand out from the rest? Well come see us, listen to the songs and then you can tell me!
What’s your latest release? Well it’s a 4 track EP , featuring slow but groovy blues, acoustic rock, a mad instrumental and a banging rock song. You can find it on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, YouTube and all the rest.
What are your touring plans for the next few months?
Just a couple of a acoustic shows this month , the band should be touring around the Autumn And into next year. Any Canadian blues rock promoters get in touch man. We d love to come over some time.
Cheers!
Ian Hawkins
