How was the band formed?
After the Bittencourt brothers’ previous band broke up, they started a new band, writing songs in English, and started to look for new members. We are talking about 2011. First they found Chantós and, later, Marcelo.

What’s your songwriting process like?
Usually one of the members program drums using some specific software for that and record at home a first primitive version with guitars, bass and his own voice. We call it “baby pre-production”. If the song is approved by the others (we never had a refused song by the others), so we start a serious and dedicated process of pre-production while all the members bring their inputs, suggesting many changes on music or lyrics. Most of times the songs change a lot and become better than the inicial idea.

What are your influences?
They’re many. People usually think that musicians in a band only listen to the same artists. That’s not true. Chantós is a big fan of the Nine Inch Nails, for example. Marcelo is crazy for the Beatles and the Foo Fighters. Marcel digs punk rock (not only the music genre, but also the message and aesthetics) and also likes a lot of the scandinavian rock made by bands like The Hellacopters, Turbonegro and Backyard Babies. Murilo loves The Hellacopters as well and is very influenced, by Kiss, Aerosmith and Slash’s solo career.

How would you describe your music?
We like to use the word ROCK, and that’s it. Because it allows the magic to happen in people’s mind. But it’s probably accurate to say we mix of the Scandinavian High Energy Rock and Roll with American Rock music.

What’s the one thing that makes you/your band stand out from the rest?
Tough question… Well, maybe it may sound like a cliche, but what makes Rebel Machine different is how hard we try to make things happen and how dedicated we are to our music. We are not in this for the money or for the fame. We are here to rock hard and to touch the hearts of as many people as we can. Another cool thing is that we are from Brazil and that’s not the kind of stuff you see every day, in spite of the great list of great bands we have here.

What’s your latest release?
Whatever It Takes. It was released on May 24th 2019.

What are your touring plans for the next few months?
We have some plans for Europe and North America, but nothing solid yet. Our friends Trampa (a very good band, check them out), played in Canada some times and they said it’s great! We would love to play in Canada.
