The Music Addict’s VerdictBlack Income reminds me a lot of Alice in Chains, but done in their own way. They’re worth checking out for rock fans who miss the 90’s.
Black Income

How was the band formed? We started out late 2011, we wanted to do a punkier, kind of grooving metal band, with good melodies in focus, but still with the energy from rougher genres.

What’s your songwriting process like? Usually its our vocalist and guitarist Henrik that writes the ideas for the songs, and we work together from there, until we feel the track is right.

What are your influences? We’ve got a lot of influences, but try very hard to create our own sound and feel. But sure if you listen to our music, you will hear some threads stretching down in the past, in the 90’s and 00’s era of bands… but we don’t aim to sound like that, we just create the music we love, and aim to create records we would like to add to our own collection.

How would you describe your music? Our music is dark key’ed Hard Rock with energetic and blazing riffs. We write melodies with realistic lyrics, using element from the Fuzz and Stoner genres… putting it all together into a Deadly Cocktail.

What’s the one thing that makes you/your band stand out from the rest?  We are fairly unique in the way that we sound. We don’t give a rats ass: we play the music we love, and fans and audience tend to get smitten by that. We have been told from day one that we had something unique going on.

What’s your latest release? We just released our second album called ‘unSOUND’. Like for our debut, we have gotten a lot of great reviews so far ( PowerPlay 8/10). We have a new video and single out ‘Loaded Gun’; the song is about a personal friend who ended up taking his own life…. so go check it out on YouTube.

What are your touring plans for the next few months? We decided just to play 1 unSOUND release gig in 2019, because we are going in the studio this winter again to record album number 3. For 2020, there is a tour in the pipeline, but it’s not official just yet.
